10. It's old tech. You want new building codes.

Stick houses never were meant to handle wind. They were easy to build when we had an excess of wood, now they're just habit.

Earth, concrete, block, brick, stone, metal, all make windproof houses. Half-buried passive solar houses are ideal, as they are buried sideways instead of down, so they're no more susceptible to flooding than any other house.
