From @LeoShane's twitter feed: Honor flight vets just knocked over the barriers at the WWII memorial to get inside, ‪#‎shutdown‬ or no.

This picture from reporter Leo Shane was taken 24 minutes ago at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. He's there with photographer Carlos Bongionni working on a story.

After that tweet above, he followed it with some more (the most recent on top):
• Iowa vets (yellow shirts) now coming into WWII memorial with congressional security guard. #shutdown

• No sign of folks leaving. The vets have control of the memorial. #shutdown

• Tons of applause as the WWII vets from Miss. storm their memorial. Park police on the way
