(3,416 posts)babies and the dogs never treated the cat any differently than they treated each other. It was as if they didn't have a clue. When it was time to take a nap, all five would snuggle together in their little house/cave I had built for them and Mikey would groom all of the min pin's eyes and ears. The only thing the min pins never understood, was how come Mikey could jump on to things that they couldn't. I always knew when Mikey was up on a shelf or somewhere the min pins couldn't get to, as they would all go crazy barking until Mikey came down, or I told them "no"! Boy I miss those pets......Chloe, Rhett Butler, Ricky, Lucy, and Mikey......I know this didn't address your op, but that,s what popped into my head when I read your question. I guess most people just pick their pets by what they see in the pets personality and how they interact with each other when they meet. Also, there are probably way more of the various colored cats than there are black cats to choose from.
