(188 posts)Not by choice though. My wife and I were at the local petsmart getting litter for the other two (a torty, who. is. insane. And a 1/2 manx cow kitty). We always step into the little kitty jail they have there to say hi. That evening somebody was in to clean the cages and let them have a strech. There was this cute little kitten on the floor, so I sat down to pet it. From the other side of the room this monster black cat walks over to me, jumps into my lap and looks at me just daring me to do anything about it. I looked over to my wife to see her rolling her eyes. she pretty much knew that we had a new cat.
But it was almost 3 weeks more before I brought him home. He had an abscess and an upper respiratory infection and ended up at the vet. I used this time to find out a little more about him. He had been turned into the shelter twice, and his last time had been for 18 months before I got him. Introducing him to the other two was fairly painless. Had a couple of sprays (including the xbox), but nothing since.
For all those people that walked by this cat beacuse he was black, or 7 years old, or 17 pounds, or possible medical issues down the road... Suckers. This cat is full of awesome. I know that 17 pounds is a little big to be a lap cat, but I can overlook it and he sure as hell doesn't seem to mind...
