23. Lay-off

It's a private company that relies on a lot of government contracts. Things have been bad for a while with the sequester. They did say that if business picks up I'd be on the top of the list for re-hire, but I'm not about to count on that with our current Congress (plus that would still be many months at best). I think it was just more them re-emphasizing to me that it was not performance-based. They did seem genuinely sorry to have to do it, though I'm never too sure of my read on people.
