66. Pretty shocking stuff. I don't usually post on what I consider Metas anymore. Here we are back again

With DUers complaining about other DUers, instead of the topics of OPs.

This OP is what used to be called flame bait and I find the few I have seen in the last day or so complaining about people rehashing the past, more disruptive than those OPs that they are calling out.

Some of those OPs are about history, but they give no clear message to go forward. I have Rec'd them because they have some truth and are well thought out OPINION pieces. I don't have to agree with them to see good points.

But neither they nor this OP create the mood we are seeking right now, and I find this more disruptive than the OPs being fussed at here.

I don't care for stumbling upon mainstream media views touted here if they agree with the GOP and don't care about the people being hurt. That is what you just linked to, which I had not seen. It sounds exactly like what Hannity said, it's nearly word for word. It is disenhearting to see posted here at DU. One of the OPs was self-deleted to stop criticism, but the OP writer did not change it, and it was not a well-thought OP nor empathetic, IMO.

I am going to leave this thread because I am finding out some discouraging things about some people's views and am not sure what they are really saying.

I will not Rec this thread because it is a call-out. But if anyone who thinks this is a good use of your time, that you are refining the DU experience for the betterment of all, you must continue. I don't agree.

I'm much more concerned about people I know who are being hurt through, and by the fear, this shutdown is generating. And with what happens after October 17th and the fascists in the HoR violate the Good Faith & Credit Clause of the US Consitution.

RWNJs have declared that November 17th will be the day of their revolt to take Obama out of power. Now that does correspond with what would happen the day that the payments would actually stop.

If Obama takes measures to restore the Clause in order to support Constitutional government, there will be a rebellion. And as I have many times before, some of those infamous executive orders may have to be used. The ones the rightists have complained about in media to scare people, but will be needed to defend the country.

I don't want to see this go on and they are working as hard to bring martial law with the rightists promotion of unlimited and reckless gun use. Anyone who has paid attention knows that they will atempt to force a Constitional Convention in which as stated by Ryan, they will repeal the 14th amendment.

I urge anyone who does not know what that amendment did, as the Emanicipation Proclaimation and Civil War itself were insufficient to preserve the ideal of all men being created equal, then had to have many other amendments made, would know what the GOP has in store for us.

They are dividing up the country into little enclaves, and everything they can do to destroy democratic government. A student of history would recall things that Lincoln which would be called totalitarian today. But the rightists are pushing for it.

I am less concerned with DUers going after each other and not discussing the real issues, since talking about each other and calling a mob to do things to other DUers is not a real issue. We have serious things going on at this time, even though Hannity does not think so.

Fine, he's a millionaire. Most DUers are not and have empathy for their fellow DUers like Demotex and others like a2liberal who have just lost their jobs from this. Some comments have been ill advised.

I will be looking to see what to do in the event of the debt ceiling not being raised. As far as I know, the 14th has not been invoked recently and White House lawyers told Obama he could not use it in 2011 to force the GOP to raise the debt ceiling that December.

The continuing crisis being pushed on Americans is severe and desrructive. I'll leave this to those who feel this is a real issue. It is your right to do so. I may make a thread, a very plain one, asking what people know about what literally happens if we default. I believe it could end up with the UN troops that the rightists claim they don't want, but I think they really do, or they would work this out. That's just my take.
