1. I imagine they probably were scared. Their vehicle was surrounded, people were pounding on the car

with their helmets and slashing their tires with knives. Any sane person with half a brain would have tried to escape. I feel bad for the guy that is paralyzed but he should not have been participating in that crowd mentality melee. The way that gang was cutting in and out of traffic, going through red lights and speeding down sidewalks, it is a miracle more people were not injured or killed.
