A LOT of right-wingers get their information from insular sources that, in turn, seem to repeat the same pablum that is fed to them by their political taskmasters.

They actually believe that they are winning because their "news" tells them that THEY are the ones who are expressing the opinions of most Americans. They discount polls showing otherwise and lacking credibility.

Trust me on this. I engage far-rightwingers on a daily basis. The farther right they are, the more likely they are to be wrapped up in their own little deluded world and believe the shit that they a shoveling.

Fortunately, over the past few months I have seen moderates and a bit further center-rights throw their hands up in frustration and disgust over some of the stances that the Republican party is taking.

But there is no doubt in my mind that many of the right actually believe what they are peddling.
