63. No, they do not have that power...

The ONLY thing they have so far managed to do is to demonstrate to the entire world exactly why they do not deserve to be entrusted with power. Our nation has not crumbled, the world economy marches on, and President Obama's power as President (and our credibility as a party) has only grown.

As for the Teaparty and the GOP, they have shown themselves to be irrational and potentially dangerous. Even disinterested moderate Republicans are beginning to see them for what they are. We have been through many many shutdowns before. We have even "defaulted" on our debt -- though it could be argued that (even without some unusual action by the President) this is not even possible and will not happen. For more on this:
