(12,406 posts)In their meltdown the GOP has blundered into two words whose slanting they cannot control. In their extremist lexicon there are no deals and negotiation is supposedly equally a sign of weakness. The term negotiate also sounds either as if the US is negotiating with a hostile power(fact) or terrorists(also fact) especially when the other side is DEMANDING negotiations. Decades of being schooled by the government, the movies and the media these are key words that even make them look bad to the kooks that brought them there.
The lazy spinmeisters under full exposure and full public approbation have spitted themselves nicely on the hook, line and sinker included. This is inevitable when evil inevitably has its own way and expects consequences in the real world always to go its own way. Evil is stupid, or instinctively accepts an interior death knowledge.
Also, I used to post that inevitably corporate rule would degenerate into conflict with each other in the club. The harm they do to each other without accepting the need for regulation or change is amazing. ALL business would be better off buying some legislation to get the money OUT of politics, leaving the sole influence on pols being providing local jobs and benefiting their constituents(which would be good for actual business if not the fake profit orgies that have nothing of real value behind the numbers).
Also, historically, too much of big business has vested itself into two tents. It would prefer the one that sided with the public to have failed. It did not. The other party can't even represent them with the effort it takes to steal democracy and break all law. Time for the remaining sanity to plumb the unexplored territory of simple wisdom and forsake the self-entitled high arrogance and low cunning that will destroy this entire biosphere. Or maybe that time has already past.
