48. How so? If Republicans sign the petition and get it on the floor

what's the point of not voting for it at that time? The damage will have already been done to them for signing the discharge petition. Then if they don't vote for it they'll just look like cowards or idiots.

On second thought, I guess they might do that just for shits and giggles, so they can give Boehner the satisfaction of saying "see? I told you we didn't have the votes." But if that was going to happen he'd just put the bill up for a vote now.
