But if it's "Guess what my Republican coworker said" or "Obama is in league with the Koch brothers" or "Some crazy lady has way too many kids" or "Pit Bulls are the devil"...Well, if it's one of those things, you've hit DU gold.
Point out that twenty thousand people in the world starved to death today, or that poverty in America is escalating rapidly, or that the poor have so little political sway that they might as well be invisible, and your thread will probably die a quick, pain free death of being ignored.
I'm as guilty as anyone else of posting about relatively trivial stuff, but it seems like many posters here don't spend a lot of time multitasking beyond whatever bullshit is in the news lately.
