39. I hear more about the Confederacy and the Civil War on DU

than I ever do in talking with my Southern neighbors, co-workers, friends and acquaintances. The subject of the Civil War or secession never comes up at all.

Yet, all the non-Southerners on DU think that's all we talk about down here.

Note to Non-Southern DUers: We talk about college football, the heat, Southern cuisine and outdoor events far more than we ever talk about the Civil War. Hell, that war rarely ever comes up in general conversation.
