(8,933 posts)who think anyone else who gets help from the government is somehow a taker. It may not be "everyone" but from other posts it seems these folks voted for the people who helped shut down the government. Now they are seeing the repercussions of that. While I wish that they could get the help they need, you cannot ignore the fact that many of these folks WANTED this. They just didn't know that it would mean they would be personally affected. It doesn't make people the flip side of conservatives, as a majority of these folks voted for this shutdown by electing folks who would shut down the government. One could hope that this would give them more insight as to what they are advocating for when they support certain things. There are always going to be consequences. It's too bad that folks that didn't support this get stuck in the fallout too.
