What you all forget is that the money didn't save those the Tea Party Targeted. Remember Bob Bennett from Utah? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Bennett_(politician)#Elections

Just one of the Not far right enough that were torpedoed by the Tea Party. Those that made it in, have been some of those extremists we denounce here so often. Senator Saxby Chambliss was targeted to be primary challenged from the right. So he decided not to run for re-election. He might win, but it is iffy at best, and the odds were probably against him. http://thehill.com/video/campaign/275399-tea-party-express-chambliss-will-be-primaried

Chambliss announced retirement. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/01/25/saxby-chambliss-to-retire-at-end-of-term/

Notice the dates, the retirement was announced a week after the Tea Party announced they were going after him. Sure Chambliss could have gotten money, and sure the moneybags that be would have founded him, but it would probably not have helped much.

Colorado, we saw that the Tea Party Mentality shattered two state Democratic politicians. Now, they're taking target at a third, which if successful, will give the Republicans control of the State Senate. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2013/10/14/colorado-gov-hickenlooper-suggests-gun-control-groups-stay-away-from-recall/2969257/

So the money poured in to try and effect the election and defend the Democrats was completely useless. Now, they are one recall away from taking control of the State Senate. Now, the Governor of Colorado suggests that Bloomburg's group please stay away, and they're going to quietly ignore the recall and hope it fails because nobody is paying attention. So say goodbye to the State Senate in Colorado Dems.

You all don't see it. The Tea Party isn't funded by the Koch brothers, or anyone like that. They are decentralized, and they are venomously opposed to anything that appears Big Government. They are Libertarian leaning Republicans only because the Libertarian party doesn't hold any seats. We Democrats primaried people before, but nothing like this. If you're waiting for the money men to reign in the Republicans, you're not going to see it happen. Because if the Republicans step out of line on one too many votes, the Tea Party challenges them from the Right, and a Republican can't win a primary running to his left. If he offered to switch parties, we'd tell him to go get fucked, and pour tons of money into our own Democratic Candidate, which we did before. The end result is the Republicans are picking their targets from solidly Red Districts, and whomever wins the Republican Primary, wins the election.

Good luck with the idea that the Rich and Shameless will tug on the leash and make the Republicans heal. The money men have a choice, fund the Republicans, or surrender to our side. Besides, the mega rich are not going to get hurt if the nation defaults. The New Rich might, but the mega like the Koch won't be hurt one little bit in the long run.
