(20,413 posts)The subsidies they receive from 1995 onward are all in an online database now, so if you know a farmer's name, you can see how much money they've gotten.

My dad and 5 of my 7 uncles are farmers. Between the 6 of them, they received ONE MILLION DOLLARS from the federal government since 1995!
Two of my uncles (the ones driving new trucks, building new houses, sending their kids to expensive colleges and paying for their honeymoons in Hawaii) AVERAGED $20,000 per year in farm subsidies alone. They get more money handed to them by the government than many families make in a year.
These are the same people who'd sit around bitching about "fucking welfare recipients" every Christmas and Thanksgiving.
