(36,418 posts)10. They shut down what they wanted to shut down, but the Center-Right gave them that opportunity
in the deals that were made that emerged as the Sequester and the selective shutdown. The Teahadists get the blame publicly, but the mainstream Centrist leadership of both parties made this possible and inevitable. It's Austerity by Default, and it's no accident.
