15. give it some time, see what happens

They've suffered a defeat, and hurt the republican party in the process. But such setbacks tend to be temporary, many voters have memory comparable to that of fruit flies, and the big money behind the right-wing media hasn't started working its apologetics and counter-accusations yet. If this translates to a draw, let alone a win, in next year's elections, I'll be quite pleasantly surprised.
