(6,199 posts)she's into fitness and people who are into fitness tend to think everyone else would just love it if they only tried it! The attitude annoys me personally, but that's just me.
But that being said, her "What's your excuse?" question has a lot of possible answers:
~Some women don't have her body type and aren't going to look like that no matter what they do, kids or not.
~Some women have health problems that either forbid heavy workouts or make them incredibly difficult.
~Some women don't have a husband around to watch the kids six days a week while they go to the gym (some of her photos show a wedding ring, so I presume the father is around).
~Some women are single moms with one or more physically demanding jobs, which do leave little time or energy for extra exercise afterward (and also leaves them unable to afford the kind of healthy diet that goes along with the workouts).
~Some women straight up can't afford a gym at all, nor the pricey workout videos that were designed with already-fit people in mind and are difficult for beginners to do.
Either she didn't take things like that into account or she dismissed them as unimportant, so her message came across as "You could look just like me if you only weren't so lazy!"- basically the same thing that mothers with "imperfect" figures have had hurled at them since fashion began. This isn't a help.
The "bad mother" crap was uncalled for, though. Leaving children with their father while you work out once a day is not an end-of-the-world event.
