Barack Obama generated a lot of excitement four years ago, even in places that he was sure to win. A lot of people turned out at the polls to be a part of making history. Now that history has been made, they're going to need some goosing to get aroused, and if Mittens is the Rethug candidate, he's not going to inspire anywhere near as much fear as a Gingrich or a Santorum.
