28. I've lived in the South all my life, and these kinds of posts are embarrassing.

Stop whining.

Everyone gets bashed.

The alternative is for you to argue that the South and southern culture are bastions of liberal thought and action, the the south more than the north or west or east is more tolerant and forgiving and progressive. You can't do that with a straight face. You do the same thing your are accusing others of when you broad brush DU members.

Like I said, stop whining. I live here. The south has a lot to answer for. You got bigots everywhere, but in the south it is often expected. I can't tell you how many times I have been at some function, business or social, where I have to stop some asshole and ask him or her why he or she thinks it is okay to talk that way as if I would agree with their drivel.

The premise of you post is ludicrous. You name the exceptions the prove the opposite of your point. I understand that you are upset, but your pique has defeated your sense of logic.
