against this community. It is also by the way insipid to claim there should be no criticism of current cultural figures and entertainers if they come from your region. When you add to your list people I freaking know and have to deal with, and you claim they are somehow superior and protected when they say and do things I do not care for you are being a supremacist. Tyler? Seriously? For every compliment I could offer for Kenny Leon I could add 2 criticisms of Tyler's work, of Tyler's bigoted attitudes, sure he makes bank but when one has no ethics and is willing to pander to the lowest minds it is easy to crack jokes and cash checks. Tyler supported Obama, other than that he's a conservative.
Spike Lee, American genius of the cinema, has many very harsh words for Perry, he is far more critical of him than I am. Is Spike 'Bashing the South' when he as a filmmaker takes issue with his peer filmmaker's sexism and racist modalities?
Tyler Perry's films are filled with anti gay material as well as misogyny and what the kids on DU call 'slut shaming'. He is a greedy, nasty, mean, bigoted purveyor of lies and insults to others. He is a homophobe.
If you claim criticism of Tyler is 'bashing the South' I have to assume that you are claiming that you and the entire South agree with Tyler's homophobia and that people get HIV for being sinners. That's what you are demanding that others respect.
Like a Tyler Perry drama, this OP is about as bigoted and shameful as a product can get.
