184. Who says all southern politicians deserve a bashing.

There are many southern progressive's that deserve praise. In fact you forgot some of the best.
Former Fla Rep. Sam Gibbons, Claude Pepper ( had he remained a Senator , he'd be in the progressive heavens along with Teddy Kennedy.) once NC governor Luther H Hodges and Terry Sanford. Bev Perdue, North Carolina's last governor wasn't half bad either. Virginia governor Doug Wilder should have made Virginians' proud. Virginia even had one half decent , semi progressive GOP governor of which they should be proud. Back when the Republicans had a few non-crazies. Former Va Gov. Linwood Holton. Texas had senator Ralph Yarborough..But, where are all these fine folks now.
Some state's seem more backwards than others.... Has Alabama, South Carolina, or Mississippi ever elected anyone who isn't revolting. ?
