18. I *have* waited tables. It's what type of job that sort *thinks* waiting tables is.

I've also worked shipyards, and honestly, I would take installing a 200' electrical power run any time over waiting tables. And not just because the money's usually better.

I used to live in LeHay (author of "Left Behind&quot central, and had to deal on a day-to-day basis with enough of that "look at Us, We're so Godly" judgemental type of "Evangelical" for me to call them a "that type" group.

To these people who set themselves apart, waiting tables is for "wimmin". Nursing is also for women. Teaching pre-school or elementry school is for women. House-cleaning/caretaker work is for women. Grooming (pet or people) is women's work - well, except for good old-fashioned barbering. Fabric piece-work (sewing), dry-cleaning/laundry, or tailoring is for women. Cashier or bank teller work is for women. Men who work women's jobs - are just like women.

Unless it's them, personally, of course - if a "Good Evangelical Man"' is working one of those jobs, they're doing Gawd-Alrighty's work, and that's where Gawd lead them.

Direct from the mouths of these storefront church type sort.
