5. It's an attack on all women

You are right to be concerned.

Told my kids (5 and 7) the other day that had I been born earlier I most likely would not have had the job I have today. That not too long ago men considered women to not be capable of doing my job. That a woman's place was at home raising kids, cooking and cleaning. Now I love cooking and raising kids but have other talents as well. Had I been born earlier my talent would have gone to waste because back then society thought women couldn't do my job and would have denied me the chance to prove them wrong.

The right has been busy whittling away at civil rights for years. They've demonized immigrants, declared a war on multiculturalism, and are openly trying to do away with affirmative action. It would really suck if my generation was the only one to know and live what my parents generation fought for and what our society seems so close to throwing away.
