An unlikely Congress member blows Josh Marshall's NSA argument to smithereens [View all]

Today Diane Feinstein, one of the most pro-NSA Congress members, say she is "totally opposed" to spying on foreign leaders unless we are in hostilities with that country at any given time: ""Unless the United States is engaged in hostilities against a country or there is an emergency need for this type of surveillance, I do not believe the United States should be collecting phone calls or emails of friendly presidents and prime ministers.

Josh Marshall, on the other hand, said today, "This is what signals intelligence agencies are designed to do."
