they use to. I wonder if it's because parents just don't want to bother taking their kids trick or treating anymore. I've spent the last 17 years trick or treating with my kids. This was the first year we didn't because my youngest is 15. It was a lot of fun when my kids were small and even when my kids got older I still dragged my butt out there every year because I knew how much fun they were having. But parental involvement isn't what it used to be. I could count the number of parents I saw at curriculum night and parent teacher conferences on both hands. Also noticed people don't really decorate their houses for Halloween anymore. Every house on the block is decorated for Christmas but no one seems to want to go through the hassle for Halloween. It's kind of sad. We need a Halloween Renaissance.
