(17,656 posts)I think they have done a lousy job in firing up their base and getting people to vote.
I don't know why there haven't been continuous tv ads and radio ads playing all the time during the last few weeks of those off-year elections, but it seems like the Democratic party doesn't care enough to spend a few measly dollars on that sort of thing.
Add to that, there have been some really poor Democratic candidates that have run for Congress, some of them were DINOS from the state legislature, while some of them were just plain bs artists who had a local business, and there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell of them getting elected.
The Republican party here in Idaho doesn't have to worry about "getting out the vote" because they spend 10s of 1000's of dollars statewide advertising for their candidates every time they have an election.
Every election.
Every single election!
You can't turn on the radio without hearing an ad for them within just a few minutes!
And that's because the Republicans set aside money for that sort of thing whereas the Democratic candidates that run for office here are left to fend for themselves.
