(114,088 posts)I don't see it replacing a laptop, though. Without the virus/firewall protections of a laptop, how would one ever feel really comfortable doing anything but casual browsing on wifi. If you use the 4G cellular model, that affords a bit more protection, but still. Further, typing on a virtual keyboard is really not a lot of fun to me--certainly not very efficient, so there goes using it for major document creation. Tapping out a few emails, fine... but
That said, it is a beautiful device that I'm sure would be great to read ebooks on, take to the coffee shop to browse the internet on Sunday mornings and to give the laptop a little break now and then. But, frankly, I don't see it doing anything that I don't get done readily with an iphone and/or my sony laptop.
