(4,840 posts)Because there are so many sub-categories within the study of Politics - such as Science, Sociology and Psychology, etc. it makes sense to me that there are sub-categories of Liberal. Some Liberals may be involved primarily for the politics and elections. Others are more concerned with the sociological ramifications of Liberalism and therefore engage the battle primarily there. Still others are Liberals because they believe it is the political system most beneficial to the advancement of the sciences. And yet still others are Liberals for psychological health reasons. They may have been or are being abused and feel that abuse stems from intolerant and/or competitive ideas given harbor by political systems in diametric opposition to Liberalism and therefore fight their battle on that level.
The ways people serve Liberalism I think should be allowed to be as varied as the people Liberalism serves.
