I've never understood the need to rake and dump. Mulching seems like the best choice.

I lived in an area of high wind for so long, leaves from trees didn't fall. They blew away. I never bothered with the few stragglers.

Here, the leaves fall, but not on grass; I don't have any. I don't have neighbors to be offended by my yard, either. The leaves that fall are the yellow leaves from the lilac bushes, the leaves from the roses, the strange feathery things from the tamarisk; I leave them where they lay, and they extend the fall color season for a few weeks. By spring they are gone; to where, I've never pondered.
