The Commandant of the Marine Corps changed the rules to authorize growing mustaches. I did.

Since then, I've shaved it once or twice. Didn't like how I looked. Grew it back immediately.

Grew a beard a few times, didn't like it. I never got past the itching stage and always went back to shaving.

Over the last couple of decades, I stopped shaving every day, or even 5 times a week. Now, I shave once or twice a week and grow stubble the rest of the time. I look a little scruffy, and I look older when I do that, but I'm comfortable.
