(61,063 posts)Consider that if Ohio had enough voting machines, Kerry would have won an upset - in spite of a very biased media, a President whose approval was higher than Obama's when he was re-elected, and a lot of Republican cheating. Then would you have said that we should just nominate MA Senators -- or even nominate MA Senators with good hair -- or even nominate MA Senators with good hair and initials JFK? After all both fitting the descriptions would have won.
Not to mention, if you are ruling out people who fit patterns that have lost in the past - don't nominate someone for the DEMOCRATIC nomination who ran unsuccessfully in an earlier year. After all, Stevenson, Humphrey and Gore (who actually like Kerry was cheated) lost. (In that same time frame no one meeting that criteria won.)
There are good reasons to support any candidate - fitting a pattern of what state they represent is not one. Not to mention, as Scott Brown said hundreds of time " she is not from around here".
