3. I don't understand how these people are going to be helped.

I was driving a lot today and all I heard about was that the US military is sending a carrier battle group and some marines. That will not help in any real fashion. I'm sure they appreciate the gesture but much of the Philippines is a third world country spread across many islands. They need heavy equipment and trained operators. They need tens of thousands of medical personnel. They need a million things I can't think of but they do not have because they are too poor.

This just sucks and I don't see how they are going to be helped. Remember the world poured into Haiti after the earthquake and it did no good.
