Oh - and as someone who has done a lot of statistical research/work, state-based statistics are the fast food of statistical inquiry. I favored county-based statistical work, although some would disagree with my contention that this is a meaningful statistical unit.

It was amazing, though, with some of my charts to see how monochromatic as many as the first twenty slots often were. But it just makes me more sympathetic to all the good people I know live in these states and hopeful that the geographical diversity that does exist can gradually work positive change. I ultimately abandoned running red state-blue state divide statistics, as I found it pointlessly divisive.
