Dick Cheney had a rare moment of agreement with Bill Clinton: They both think President Barack Obama needs to step in to prevent consumers health care plans from being canceled.
Im inclined to agree with Bill Clinton. Thats something that ought to be attempted, Cheney told Fox Newss Greta Van Susteren on Tuesday. But given the complexity of the system, youve already got people now who have lost their policies, who cant get new ones. Im not quite sure how now you go peel back that onion.
Cheney was commenting on Clintons remarks in an interview that Obama needs to honor the federal governments commitment that no one would be forced to give up their health care plan. The former president said Obama should seek a legislative change to prevent the plans from being taken away if thats the only way to handle the problem.
Cheney also noted that while fixing the problems caused by the Affordable Care Act is important, hes not sure how that could be accomplished.
