(20,176 posts)That one chapter is a landmine. I've been having an ongoing correspondence with my congresscritters about my opposition to TPP/TPIP for weeks and particularly with my House Rep. His position was that he was opposed to fast track but he couldn't oppose the FTAs without seeing them and he was skeptical that it really contained the things I said it did, that nobody could know because it wasn't public and many of those policies were non-starters.
Well. The reveal confirms what I said was in the FTAs is in TPP, it's not private anymore and all those things are presumably still non-starters. My critter isn't some backbencher, he's a member of the House leadership...and I'll be calling him again tomorrow.
I have every expectation that he tells me TPP if not TPIP is DOA.
Tomorrow we start on killing TPIP.
