I believe every comment made by SoCalDem was right: Medicare is already in place as a payment system, most medical providers already deal with it / know the rules, they have access to employment information regarding subsidies, and since it is the government, no skimming off the top for health insurance executives.

The "buy-in option" -- I would love to have it investigated.

Truthfully, I am not knowledgeable on this topic, but off the cuff, it sounds wonderful.
