(8,492 posts)I wasn't alive back then, so I can't be sure...but, pretty confident that was the general feeling.
By '16 the bugs will (mostly) have been worked out. It will have started to become part of our everyday lives. Yes, still in it's infancy, but starting to sit up and smile.
I'm still just as confident as I was a year ago. Pissed off at some things, but I'm a much too patient person that knows things take time. Seldom does anything work perfectly at the start, take Windows for example...on second thought...don't. But, any working OS normally as a .xx after it. Patches come out, autofixes, etc. It would have been difficult to do a beta test on the ACA, if not impossible. Though the numbers were calculated, someone dropped the ball on efficiency. We can't stop the whining from the RW or the 1% that just may have to fork out some more cash for what is (hopefully) a better policy. I was none too pleased when I was forced to wear a seatbelt. Now, I wouldn't dream of going around the block without one after having the stupid thing save my life. I also wasn't thrilled when I was forced to get car insurance, until my 2 year old car was totaled by someone without insurance. People don't like to be told what to do, but eventually, I think most will appreciate the outcome.
So, buck up, bud...we'll get through this together.
