Blind man and guide dog booted from plane, outraged passengers leave too [View all]

I was glad to read that other passengers also disembarked with Mr. Rizzi and Doxy. How on earth did the flight attendent ever think that a guide dog would fit under the seat. This as got to be a violation of the Disabilities Act.

Passengers aboard a U.S. Airways flight were appalled when a flight attendant booted a blind man, and his guide dog, off of the aircraft, reported Thursday's CBS New York.

The trouble began on Wednesday after a U.S. Airways Express flight out of Philadelphia was delayed on the tarmac, and Albert Rizzi's guide dog, a yellow Labrador retriever named "Doxy," got restless.

According to Rizzi, Doxy tried to get comfortable by curling up under his legs, but a flight attendant was insistent that the dog be "stowed" beneath his seat.

Rizzi explained what took place to 1010 WINS' Mona Rivera:

“I took offense to that. My dog is not to be stowed, he’s not an inanimate object,

This woman just did not want to understand that sitting on a plane for an hour and a half for any human is uncomfortable. The dog was just antsy and wanted to get comfortable.”
