in 8th grade in Catholic school. They used the PA system which had been installed over the summer to announce it. Previously the principal had to go from classroom to classroom to tell us all something important. In 1960 I'm sure she wasn't supposed to say this, but my fifth grade nun told us to tell our parents to vote for Kennedy because - get this - Nixon's a Quaker and won't defend the country.

In the past month or so I was wondering why all the JFK magazines in the stores; I wasn't conscious of this being the 50th anniversary. Now I look at the articles online and feel very very sad.
