(2,983 posts)What the hell does that twit know about "hard work"? When was the last time she actually had to do any? What the hell does she know about "equality", or, "equal opportunities"? She has been a member of the elite wealthy for so long I think she has forgotten what "hard work" actually is. It's a brutal grind that can and will exhaust your mind and body to the core, working for little money without health benefits, without much of what people like Palin take for granted. I wonder if the woman has ever studied history, even our own American history.
Want to talk about hard work Palin? How about how for centuries whites (like you and I) in this Country built so much of it's wealth and power on the backs of slaves. People who were seen as different and inferior because of their skin color - views that many like Palin still hold to. That means working without being given the choice, working hard for someone because if you did not you could be beaten, killed, brutally raped or treated in any fashion that your "master" decided you should be.
You damn idiots (the you is in reference to those like Palin) think it's slave labor to have to pay taxes that a small portion of goes to support the people in this Country that desperately need help. You haven't got a clue what slave labor actually is. I strongly suspect that you haven't got a clue what it means to work hard, either.
You think Obama wants to take us back to the days before the civil war? Why don't you actually read a history book or three before you open your mouth about such things? If you think we have "equal opportunities" in truth, give away your wealth to charity and start over, working 9 to 5 for minimum wage in a job without benefits. Try struggling for once, try wondering and worrying where your next meal is coming from, whether you'll be able to buy life saving medication or heat your home in the heart of a freezing cold winter, whether you'll be able to feed your children. Try being poor, I dare you - then you can talk to us about equal opportunity.
I do not say that we are not equal. Rather, I say that we should have the right to equal opportunity under the law. This is not so, i large part because those like Palin are blinded by ignorance and a lack of understanding of how things actually work for most of us in this Country. I think we have the wealth and power to feed, clothe and shelter everyone in this Country. I think we have the ability to turn around poor neighborhoods, to care for others, to use what means we have charitably and well for the benefit of everyone.
As long as some continue to revel in their ignorance, their lack of charity, knowledge and understanding... we will never come close to meeting our true potential as a Nation. Palin is really so blind that she has no clue she is part of the problem.
