If you can't get candidates of that caliber elected in 2014, than it will be harder to push things further in 2016. Focusing on 2014 also has the benefit of finding candidates more of us agree on, so that we don't fight each other but instead focus on fighting to get progressives elected.

"Trashing" one candidate is not the same as "supporting" the alternative candidate.
