My war on the Crime of marijuana possession begins today. [View all]
My letter to both the Dallas and Ft Worth papers.
Research done over the last thirty years has proven time and time again the beneficial effect that marijuana has on adults and children with epilepsy.Unfortunately, most of that research has been done in Europe and Asia.
Is medical research in The United States so profit-driven that we can no longer research for research's sake? The FDA refuses to reschedule marijuana as a Schedule Two drug so that thorough research can be done in our universities,as well. The American Medical Association has strongly encouraged The FDA to review this in light of benefits seen by their patients.Possession of marijuana in significant amounts remains a felony offense in Texas.
As a patient with epilepsy, I am begging our representatives to push for decriminalization of Marijuana in Texas.GW PHARMA LIMITED , a pharmaceutical company in Great Britain, has already patented the rights to canniboids as anti-epileptic agents. Great Britain allows research for research's sake.
