The business model in the United States is to squeeze workers continuously in order to please stockholders, with no regard for the eventually ruinous results.
I do not go to fast food places, not will I take any family members there. The outright blackmail I have seen of saying what about the poor workers doesn't work on me.
"We are becoming a third world country because people don't want to pay for anything...they all want cheap stuff, cheap junk food."
And all some people can afford, because of low wages - is cheap junk food.
