48. I still remember 1982

I was working in an office where an issue of prejudice came up between co-workers. The perpetrator of the racist remark claimed they weren't trying to come off that way, even though they did. I remember the victim of the racism telling me, "I can't believe this, this is the 1980's not the 1880's" Ever since then, when the same situation comes up, my mind remembers that statement. It seems we are backsliding still today- almost to the 1880's it seems.
