9. The LOTR series was true to the books; The Hobbit, sadly, isn't

I probably won't pass on it, because I want to take the grandkid as I did last year.

Honestly, though, one of the best things I did for him was to insist on reading The Hobbit to him before we saw the first movie -- Even though he was only 8 at the time he really caught on to the differences and wanted to talk about them. Sheesh, if Jackson wanted to pad out The Hobbit, which is a children's book, he could have tossed in Tom Bombadil and Lady Goldberry instead.

Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound. I'll see all 3 parts.
