Was Watching History Channels Replay Of The Events Of JFK's Assinations And Was Struck By..... [View all]
how soon after the shots and the President taken to Parkland Hospital that the authorities has a pretty spot on description of the gunman that they said was on the loose in Dallas with a 30 caliber rifle. This struck me as odd that they could come up with that description so fast.
Is there any explanation for that? Was the gunman seen at the Texas School Depository? I heard about Oswald being seen in the lunchroom at the Depository. Two ladies that came down the stairway didn't see him in the stairway.
How is it that Oswald made it out of the building so fast and was seen by J.D. Tippit - who was shot by Oswald? I guess Oswald was packing a gun. He was later apprehended at a theater in Dallas. Was the gun confiscated? I don't recall hearing much about a gun other than the rifle that was found in the Depository that was the said weapon used in the assassination.
I watched how men handled the rifle at the Depository - scene of the crime - that they found. I don't think that by today's standards they did a very good job of sealing the crime scene.
Anybody care to chime in on any of this.
The other thing that struck me is that during the time that JFK was in Texas that day - that there were many other - maybe better locations and opportunities to assassinate him. Why Dealey Plaza? I'm sure that there are many explanations for that - but it seems to me that anything could have gone wrong at that location - given from where the shot's supposedly came from - the Depository Building. I know that it was said that because of the turn the motorcade had to slow down - but it still seems to me that there was too much of a chance that the assassination would fail at that location.
What am I saying? Is there a conspiracy? Or did this all happen by the hand of a lone renegade gunman?
I never believed the Warren Commission's report. I've always felt that there was more than meets the eye of the events of that day.
I'm also wondering why 50 years since that day - I still have this strange fascination with watching the accounts of that day - over and over.
I was in high school just going to lunch in the cafeteria after PE class - when the TV monitors in the cafeteria were announcing the assassination and death of a President. I'll never forget that day. It was a big turning point in my life and in America. Things seemed to go downhill from there.
Just some of my reflections of that day. Thank you for indulging me.
