In reply to the discussion: Limbaugh will stay on the air as long as the Joint Chiefs find him useful for troop morale... [View all]USArmyParatrooper

Nobody looks to Limbaugh to justify anything. It's rather patronizing to portray members of the military as one homogenous group, when in fact we're a diverse organization with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
Our system of governance dictates that the military is subordinate to civilian leadership ("I will obey the orders of the President of the United States"
, and that leadership is chosen by the people. No military can possibly function if it's members can decide for themselves whether or not they agree with a mission from a political standpoint.
The fact that the people chose our Commander in Chief is all the justification that is required. We have Republican troopers who follow the orders of a Democratic President, and we have had Democratic troopers who followed Republican leaders.
We have men and women, black and white and every color between, troopers of varying religious beliefs, gay and straight troopers and varying political beliefs. Don't try to potray us as a bunch of dittoheads.
