Let's say week 1 you work 20 hours or 5 4 hour shifts. Week two you work 20 hours in 4 5 hour shifts. Then on Thanksgiving you will receive pay for your average shift of ~4.5 hours plus however many hours you work that day.

In some states they will also be paid 1.5x or 2x time but it's not the deal you thought it was.
